Working with an organiser · 2 min read

What does a professional home organiser do?

A professional home organiser helps you decide what belongs in a space and where to keep it. The job can involve sorting a room with you, unpacking after a move or setting up storage around your routine. The exact approach depends on the organiser and the scope you agree.

Before the visit

At Reset Your Space, we start with a free consultation. We talk about how you use the area and what gets in the way. A short video walkthrough can help us see the layout. We’ll then agree what the visit covers and confirm the price before you book.

If the main problem is deciding what to let go, a focused decluttering session gives you time to make those decisions with support. If the job is to organise a kitchen or set up a new home, the plan can start with how you want the finished rooms to work.

During the session

The lead organiser helps you work through a manageable part of the space. You decide what stays and what goes. With a two-person booking, an assistant can help with sorting, unpacking and labelling while the lead keeps the session on track.

Once you know what you want to keep, we give those things a practical place. We start with the storage you already have and discuss anything extra before buying it.

At the end of the visit

Ask your organiser to show you where things live and how to put them back. Try the system in your normal routine. If something is hard to reach or a category feels too broad, those observations will help you adjust it to suit your household.
